back Home ! rainy New Hampshire ! but main Cliff open...at rumney

Hi all - back from another great time at the New River rendezvous - number 9 !  thanks Gene Kenny P and Maura K from Waterstone  and Kurt and Elaina and Sterling Rope - for sending me down.   Sam Morton, John Branagan and I worked for Sterling Rope Co Inc at the event.

 we even did a few climbs after my two teaching clinics   ate a lot of pizza from Pies and Pints too....hope to see the sun soon..here

May 10

great Mothers day weekend in Maine.  climbed with Gary and Carol Ann Duval today in Rumney... next ?   off to California thursday !   not much lined up for guiding in June or July - but do have a late August trip to Colorado with Dan Albert from Dartmouth - always fun times with Dr Dan...plan for Eldo Lumpy Ridge etc.   the dreaded BLACK FLIES are out in rumney (and everywhere else too)    jimshim  rhino guides

May 3 - dry rock (believe it or not)

NO RAIN   yup and thats no bull   setup in the Meadows at Rumney - what a fun day on Lies Hippos the Rose Garden and Truth...the Holderness School kids crushed as always -its nice to be young !
  Rest of the week is iffy - hope for the best and some dry rock again...rhino man shim

Today - Rumney with the students from the Holderness School - they are climbing strong !   Julia Stef Sam Charlotte James Justin Damon !  you guys rock    proud of you   special thanks to Rich Parker and T Vanderlinde for their support of the climbing at Holderness School... we did 3 routes including a tricky 5.9+ at parking lot wall and a nice wet Shaelyns Way   well done all   !     shimmy koko pop

back from New River gorge

Happy May all !  Greg Steverson his son Ben and his friend Harry and I traveled down south and climbed every day even with some rain !   we hit the Bridge Buttress Junkyard Wall Bubba City Beauty Mountain and Butchers Branch   we camped out at Rogers RockyTop Campground - what a great guy Roger is...we survived the lightning and thunderstorms of weds evening...wow what a light show.   Back in NH on Saturday to guide at Rumney the next three days, weather good until Tuesday they say !  no black flies here   yet     off to CA on May 12 - 19 then the New river Rendezvous that weekend.  Yahoo.   jimshim, head rhino
